About the event

Join the RED Group team for drinks and nibbles to welcome RED's co-founder from the UK, Dr Keith Bates, to Adelaide to discuss best practice in supporting people with disability to explore self employment opportunities.

Keith’s visit also marks the launch of The RED Group’s Guide:

Micro Enterprise, Self Employment and Your NDIS Plan

This guide explains how people with disability can use their NDIS plan to help them develop their micro enterprise. It has been developed in collaboration with the Strong and Capable Cooperative – an enterprise owned and controlled by people with lived experience of disability, designed to support members to successfully navigate the NDIS.

The guide has been prepared by The RED Group (see Disability Support | The Red Group) – a South Australian based social business dedicated to helping start-up micro enterprises run by people with disability.

The guide has been organised around the following 5 key steps.

Step #1: Don’t take “No” for an answer

Step #2: Put a clear micro enterprise goal in your NDIS plan

Step #3: Be ingenious when identifying what supports are required

Step #4: Identify the right NDIS support line item

Step #5: Book a free One-on-One advice session with Strong & Capable
